If there’s one thing I have learned over the past 2 years of changes within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it’s growth. As a family, we have found that there is no one website, no one method, no one step-by-step formula that we can follow to tell us exactly how we are supposed to implement Come, Follow Me in our home.
This is something I have personally struggled with. I am the type of person that needs structure, guidance, and instructions. Why? Because I’m afraid I’m going to mess it up on my own. I research the heck out of something before I take the steps into doing it. Come, Follow Me has been modified, modified, and modified so many times in our home. We’ve finally come to the conclusion that it’s always going to change, depending on what’s going on that week.
We haven’t found the perfect formula, step-by-step guide, or solution to how we do it. We’re simply doing the best we can and we’re finally okay with it.
I know that the leaders of our church have been inspired to give us the tools that we need to rely 100% on the Spirit to guide us back home to our Father and Mother in heaven. For such a long time, I felt like we’ve been given a leash, so to speak, that gives us the step-by-step instructions that we need to teach lessons and lead each other within the church.
Come, Follow Me has been one of the most difficult changes that I have personally tried to understand. Honestly, it hasn’t been fun for me. It’s been frustrating, scary, and I have quite often felt inadequate. But, what this inadequacy has taught me to do is pray even more. To ask for help even more. To plead with my Father in Heaven for the Spirit to guide me even more. I have come to rely more on the Spirit than ever before. And, that is exactly what Come, Follow Me is designed to do.
Because of this, I hadn’t planned on providing any bulletin board prints this year because I thought that whatever everyone was doing for 2019, was probably not going to be the same for 2020. I’ve had so many of our readers reach out wondering if we were going to provide any bulletin board prints. So, I’ve happily modified last year’s bulletin board and here it is for you to use and enjoy! Silhouette cut files and PDF files are included in the download.
Please share it with your family and friends! The simplicity of the board will hopefully allow you to also simplify Come, Follow Me. Don’t overthink it, just do the best you can.
